Young and enthusiastic: Driver Marcel Brohm

IAA Transportation 2022

Starting every day with a smile.

A rookie at the wheel? No way! Although just a tad under 25, Marcel Brohm has already been on the road for quite a few years. And he is more than pleased with his work vehicle, the Actros 1848. We wanted to dig a little deeper and ask about it at the Mercedes‑Benz Trucks stand at the IAA Transportation in Hanover.

Marcel Brohm.
Marcel Brohm.

How many people love working in their job? Marcel Brohm, who came to this world in 1997, is definitely one such person. “I look forward to driving every day,” he says. And being young at this job is really special: Statistically, in 2021, only 3% of career starters in freight transport were younger than 25.

Digital does it.

For Marcel, however, it’s a fantastic job working with such a tool. He feels more than comfortable in his Mercedes‑Benz truck, especially while sitting in its state‑of‑the‑art cab. “It’s great that everything inside the cockpit is becoming more digital,” says Marcel. “When working in construction site traffic and driving backwards, for example, the image angle changes so that I can see the end of the trailer. That's really neat!”

The young driver is also happy with his Actros 1848. “It’s an earlier model than the current Actros, but I’m still pleased as punch with it,” he says. “It's just a dream to work with.”
