The tipper vehicle of days gone by: LK 710

Success story on four wheels: the LK 710.

The model series.

The L 710 (the L 323 until 1963) was very well received on the market. Over 30,000 units rolled off the Mercedes‑Benz Mannheim production line between 1961 and 1970. One argument in favour of the truck was, among other things, that it could be driven with the then Class 3 driving licence.

A reorganisation of the model designation logic meant that, from September 1963 onwards, the model number once again reflected the vehicle's technical details. The 710 stood for seven tonnes gross vehicle weight and 100 hp (74 kW). As the successor to the L 3500, this model series was available in three different wheelbase versions and tractor unit variants as well as a tipper vehicle.
