All-wheel drive, torque converter and 386 kW: Helmut Alborn's NG

Classic vehicles

33 years of service.

The NG 3850 6×6 has been part of the August Alborn fleet since 1989. The power of the all-wheel drive vehicle is still a great trump card for the company today.

Turbocharging and air cooling paired with a V10: the 3850 A heavy-duty semitrailer tractor shows what this combination can generate – namely 368 kW (500 hp) at 2,300 rpm. This kind of performance was not yet required in long-haul transport during the NG 80's production period, but it was certainly useful in heavy-duty transport. Torque converter clutch and powerful radiators also help to ensure that the vehicle does not run into any problems, even with gross train weights of up to 220 tonnes.
