Freight in the City is dedicated to enabling urban deliveries to be as clean, safe and quiet as possible.

Over 1,000 visitors attended the event at Alexandra Palace in London.

Now in its third year, Freight in the City, at Alexandra Palace, London is dedicated to enabling urban deliveries to be as clean, safe and quiet as possible.

Visitors from a wide range of industries attended the event to find out more about alternative-fuelled vehicles, air quality, lowering emissions, reducing congestion, consolidating deliveries, cycle safety and quiet delivery equipment.

Located in the stunning Great Hall at Alexandra Palace, Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK showcased three Econic trucks.

The Econic comes with a panoramic view and a low seating position to ensure drivers are at eye level with cyclists and pedestrians. The addition of Active Brake Assist 3 safety technology, rear guard assist, a factory fit class 6 camera and sideguard assist make this adaptable, versatile truck perfect for the city.

With a 13m turning circle (on average 1m better than competitors) making it easier to manoeuvre and a PowerShift automatic transmission, the Econic offers a 4% reduction in fuel consumption and 40% reduction in AdBlue compared to Euro V making it the smart choice too.

Alongside the displays, Freight in the City organised a seminar programme featuring top industry speakers focussing on practical examples of sustainable city logistics operations from around the world.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Fuso Canter were delighted to support Transport for London’s LoCITY progress event which also took place at Freight in the City. LoCITY aims to increase understanding and uptake of low emission commercial vehicles and the free-to-attend event offered attendees the ideal opportunity to discover the latest urban delivery equipment.
