Actros special models – part 10
Series
The tenth part of our series is all about an Actros, which appeared as a celebration of the anniversary for the entire series.
A look back in time: In 1996, the Actros series was launched for heavy-duty long-distance haulage and distribution transport – the anniversary was celebrated two decades later with the generously equipped “20 Years of Actros” special model at the IAA Commercial Vehicles trade fair. Anyone who wanted to use the special model with Active Brake Assist 3 (with Active Brake Assist 4 from December 2016), Proximity Control Assist, Turn Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Attention Assist, driver airbag and retarder in their own vehicle fleet had to be quick about getting it: only 200 vehicles were built.
Only the best for the anniversary.
The “20 Years of Actros” special model makes a perfect impression: the front of the series has been upgraded with a front apron made up of chrome and precious metal. The Actros’ status as a special model is illustrated by the anniversary badges on the exterior mirror housings and a framed brand logo on the front panel. Bi‑xenon headlights with darkened trims and wind deflectors for the side windows are further striking features of this special Actros model. Stainless steel covers on all wheels and axles as well as optional aerodynamic side panelling with stainless steel-look louvres round off the overall appearance.
Its cab is a sight to see.
The climb into the cab grows into an experience: illuminated anniversary emblems point the way to its comprehensive fittings including the automatic climate control, a refrigerator, a sound system, and the coloured LED lighting in the acrylic glass frame for the glass version of the sliding/tilting roof. There is also that little bit extra for the driver’s health: Using the training resistance bands that come with the Top Fit set, they can also keep fit in the cab.

Obwohl ich mir denken kann dass das im Fahrerjob gar nicht mal so übel ist sich fit zu halten.
Kommt auf den Jeweiligen Job drauf an.
