Mercedes-Benz truck drivers share their own passionate stories about their pride and joy – their trucks.
If there’s one thing that unites Mercedes-Benz truck drivers (aside from their great taste!) it’s the passion they have for their vehicles. Ever since the RoadStars platform was created, plenty of Mercedes-Benz trucks drivers, owners and enthusiasts have come forward to tell their stories of passion and pride. In this article, we round up some of the passionate drivers within the UK community who have been sharing their stories across our social media channels as part of our #Truckoftheweek campaign.
Amazing Actros.
Bryn Zancudi, who drives for Prestons of Potto, a family-run logistics provider, says that his trusty Actros makes life on the road a real joy thanks to the sheer level of comfort it provides. He travels the length and breadth of the UK as part of his work and credits the top-notch mobile living space and bedroom facilities with massively improving his working conditions, keeping him fresh, focused, and ready for action.
Daniel Thomas, who has worked for Rawlings Transport for 16 years, is also passionate about the Actros. He shares: “Pretty much our entire fleet of trucks and vans is Mercedes and for me, there’s nothing else I’d rather drive. I’m a big fan of the PPC (Predictive Powertrain Control) as being able to control my speed and braking really takes the stress out of driving. This is especially important when I’m travelling on unfamiliar roads.”
Daniel’s already got his eye on his next Mercedes Benz Actros and reckons MirrorCam is an absolute must-have. Daniel featured in his own RoadStars article this time last year so it’s good to see his passion never fades.
Adam McTasney works for Caffreys International, travelling around Europe with his one true love Mary Jane, delivering temperature-controlled freight. Mary Jane is of course the name given to his beloved Actros, which, he tells us: “is a pleasure to drive” and “100% reliable”, although that’s not surprising given that the Actros is designed and manufactured using the toughest of components designed to cope with harsh conditions. Trust is the foundation of this partnership, and Mary Jane’s natural toughness means Adam can be confident that, come rain or shine, his Actros will keep delivering the goods.
Adaptable Arocs.
Dane Paterson, a new entrant to the world of driving, has bags of enthusiasm and passion for his work. In particular, he loves the fact that he’s already gained experience on a variety of seriously interesting projects and movements, all from the comfort of the cab of his Arocs. According to Dane, the way the Arocs makes the most challenging and demanding movements seem effortless never ceases to impress him and he finds the truck extremely satisfying to drive.
He said: "The cab boasts an exceptionally driver-focused setup with everything seemingly placed in the perfect position for driving. It’s all comfortable when you're parked up during rest periods. Inside, the Arocs definitely feels more spacious than several other trucks in this category, which makes for a more enjoyable experience when you are away for the week or longer."
Luscious livery.
What better way to demonstrate the passion you have for your truck than to dress it up in the grandest of robes? Jet Express, a time-critical logistics specialist based in the West Midlands
did just that after wrapping its Actros in a Lewis Hamilton-themed livery. This vehicle is the talk of the fleet wherever it goes.
Furthermore, the company’s drivers have been overwhelmed by the positive public response they’ve received when taking the vehicle out on the roads all over the UK, Europe and beyond. It’s certainly an attention-grabber!
Seeing the passion that people have for Mercedes-Benz trucks and the difference they make to their lives is truly inspiring. All our vehicles are designed with luxury, comfort, safety, and efficiency front-of-mind. It’s great to see that these features also translate into driver and owner passion and pride.
