The Truck Innovation Award 2021 goes to the eActros and GenH2 Truck

Truck Innovation Award

Outstanding!

The most innovative trucks for the electric future bear the Mercedes star.

The jury for the “International Truck of the Year” was unanimous: Mercedes‑Benz wins the “Truck Innovation Award 2021” for the battery-electric eActros and the GenH2 Truck – the fuel cell concept truck. The jury made up of 25 experienced journalists from the most important international trade media also recognised the holistic approach to electromobility as well as the long-term strategy behind it.

The eActros.

Practical tests carried out by customers showed that the purely battery-electric eActros is ideally suited to sustainable heavy-duty distribution haulage. It is in no way inferior to a conventional diesel truck when it comes to availability and power delivery. The series-production eActros will be considerably superior to the prototype in several ways – with regard to range, drive performance and safety, for example. In terms of payload, the series-production eActros will also be on a par with the conventional Actros.

The Mercedes‑Benz GenH2 Truck.

The planned GenH2 Truck in the series-production variant with a gross vehicle weight of 40 tonnes will offer a payload of 25 tonnes. Two special liquid hydrogen tanks and a particularly powerful fuel cell system will make this high payload and the great range possible. They are the core of the concept for the GenH2 Truck.
