More colour! Christian Söllner's Actros 1853

RoadStars meets

Lights up any time of day.

Sometimes he's behind a desk, but what he likes most is getting behind the wheel himself: Christian Söllner sees his job in logistics as a vocation. And even more so since he has his bright red and yellow Actros.

Be it in the mountains or alongside a lake, Christian's bright red and yellow Actros delivers a surprising sight wherever it travels.

A bright red tractor unit, the Mercedes star in sun yellow, and several more yellow highlights as well as the lettering on the window: "The one and only". Christian's Actros 1853 is a special truck! The bright red and yellow colour concept even carries on into the cab. Extra lights around the whole vehicle ensure that even in the dark, this truck puts in a brilliant appearance.

Standing out in the dark: numerous additional lamps around the vehicle combination are among the details which makes Christian's Actros stand out from the crowd.

Anything but boring.

The great memorability resulting from the unusual colour combination is so desired, explains the driver from Germany's Upper Franconia region. "My truck should look anything but boring." Anything but boring: precisely what attracts Christian to the job. He manages the operations at Söllner Schwerlast GmbH, part of the Söllner Group run jointly with Christian's mother and brother and whose logo colours are also bright red, yellow and a touch of orange.

Despite this, the 34-year-old loves getting behind the wheel himself as often as possible in his Actros. "In logistics, there are always new tasks that I have to complete." But what is particularly important to Christian is that the customers can rely on him. "We always manage to find some sort of solution," he says convincingly.

Time-out behind the wheel.

For Christian, driving trucks isn't just a job, it's about finding a balance in a fast-moving world. A predominantly calm type, the 34-year-old loves getting back on the road himself – alone in his own company, comfortably seated in the calm of the cab. That said, he values conviviality too – for example, at trucker meetings, where he happily presents his rather conspicuous vehicle and regularly meets up with his many friends and acquaintances.

Christian's loads predominantly comprise raw materials for the glass manufacturing industry. Created several thousands of years ago, glass is still among the most versatile materials of daily life. "There's probably not a single household in Germany which doesn't have something for which we delivered the raw materials," says Christian.
