Unimog

Cleaning under pressure.

Unimog ExpertPartner Mulag has come up with a special implement solution for the job: the MFK 500-T tunnel washer. This extraordinary Unimog combination has already proven its worth in Japan and Mexico.

What do Japan and Mexico have in common? A multitude of road tunnels in big cities and on out-of-town trunk roads. They are subjected to immense strain by the vast quantities of traffic flowing through them and the partially tropical climate of both countries. Exhaust emissions, dust, fauna and flora all create visible soiling which, in some cases, can even become a safety hazard. This is why it's particularly important that they are cleaned on a regular basis, so as to prevent cars and motorbikes from being hindered by dirt or poor visibility.

Innovative equipment for rapid and thorough cleaning.

The newly developed MFK 500-T tunnel washer offers some additional, innovative equipment and is thus an ideal option for Unimog carriers used in professional cleaning applications. Among the features are a convenient washer fluid dosage system and a powerful high-pressure cleaning system. As standard, the telescopic boom allows for a reach of up to 7.4 m, thus making cleaning at this height especially easy. And, thanks to a large lateral adjustment of 1800 mm and a sweep range of 190 degrees, the Special Truck can flexibly adapt itself to the conditions of the respective tunnel.

The Unimog with MFK 500-T is always ready for its special tasks: thanks to the hydraulic movement system for the washing brushes, the tunnel washer can be made operationally ready in a matter of seconds.

It's even suitable for noise-insulating and warehouse walls.

Towns and municipalities are truly excited about the prospects of the all-rounder as it's not just ideal for cleaning tunnel walls, it's also great for bringing back the original shine to noise-insulating walls or the walls of warehouses and works halls. The water supply of the cleaning machine is provided by the water butt on the Unimog platform. The volume of the water butt can be adapted to the payload possibilities of various Unimog models. If required, the water butt can be easily refilled using hydrants in the tunnels.

Another positive aspect is the new and innovative control concept, which offers decisive ergonomic advantages. That's because the modular design of the various control components for the single-hand control unit, combination control unit and luxury seat control unit allows utmost flexibility. The control elements can be individually selected and installed. The result is an optimal solution for single and double-crewed operations as well as for further operations that span over a longer period of time.

Japan and Mexico both understand the need for high-tech.

The joint vehicle and implement solution from Unimog and Mulag doesn't just make theoretical sense, it also delivers practical advantages too. In Japan, a Unimog U 423 equipped with the MFK 500-T ensures bright and clean tunnels. Meanwhile, in Mexico, the high-tech system was installed on a Unimog U 529. Both implement carrier models perform diligently in practical operations on-the-road and don't just offer excellent driving characteristics, but also a high level of operating comfort. As a result, municipal employees enjoy reliable support while working in stressful urban traffic.
